The Furies is the final of the "The Oresteia" trilogy by Greek playwright Aeschylus. Orestes is pursued by the vengeful Furies for the murder of his mother, Clytemnestra. Apollo, possibly the most important God in Ancient Greece, sends Orestes to Athens. There, Orestes pleas for Athena, the Goddess of Justice, to determine if his torment by the Furies is justified.
