The Chair - ity Art Event

The West Nebraska Arts Center, with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Platte Valley Companies, Kelley Bean Company, Gateway Realty, First State Bank, Gutwein Appraisals, and Kelly’s Liquor are pleased to present Chair-ity Art Event in our Bronson Gallery, A Painted Chair Fundraiser to benefit Soroptimist International of Scotts Bluff County. The mission of Soroptimist is to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Proceeds from the Chair-ity Art Event will go towards scholarships given by SI of Scotts Bluff County to local high school seniors and ladies in the community furthering their education. Community members, businesses, West Nebraska Arts Center members, and artists are invited to paint or refurbish furniture pieces to sell in a silent auction at West Nebraska Arts Center. This includes chairs, benches, trunks, desks with chairs, and bistro sets. The bidding will occur during the duration of the exhibit, which will also include a “buy it now” price. If you want to redesign a piece and do not have anything to design on, the Arts Center has some chairs in need of your brilliant design. Just stop by the Arts Center and choose from our selection of chairs. The Chair-ity Art Event opens in our Bronson Gallery, Thursday, November 5th, with a reception. This reception is free and open to the public. It is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with hors d’ oeuvres, refreshments and a cash bar. The Chair-ity Art Event can be viewed in our Bronson Gallery November 5th through December 31st, 2020. Visit the gallery Tuesday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Closed Mondays. Gallery admission is FREE and open to the public.
