An open house will begin an effort to improve the health of Scottsbluff-Gering residents by enabling them to get regular physical activity through walking and biking, or "active transportation."
The event is funded through the Panhandle Public Health District and a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention grant.
The open house will include informational booths from city, public health and medical professionals, and local community groups and will gather ideas from residents about how to increase walking and biking in their neighborhoods.
Light snacks will be provided.
The information from the open house will set the stage for citizen discussions at a November 17 Activate Scottsbluff-Gering Summit.
